I believe all students have the right to an elite and attainable education. Every student who enters my classroom will feel safe and important; an environment that is enriching and nurturing. I take responsibility for recognizing all my students' emotional, social, psychological, physical needs and cognitive growth. My classroom is a home away from home for my students. That being said, I believe parent communication and involvement are essential in a child's educational success. Together, we can ensure our student's have a growth mindset and we can provide a motivating framework for life long learning!
Individualized instruction is imperative to the needs of all my students. I take into account different learning styles and preferences and translate that into my instructional strategies and classroom seating options. Cooperative learning, social - emotional learning, guided individual instruction are all necessary for students to succeed. Integration of technology is a year-long instructional strategy that I use to prepare my students for college and beyond. Three results will be apparent when a student finishes our school year: an increased love for learning, increased independence, and improved problem solving. I use a responsive classroom style of management. My students and I create our rules and expectations together in the beginning of the year. Rules are fair and consistent, as well as expectations. Together we model what following rules looks like, sounds like, feels like, and what our results will be if we are our best selves all the time!
